Mobileye Global Inc.

Mobileye Global Inc. develops and deploys advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving technologies and solutions in the United States, Europe, China, and internationally. It operates through two segments, Mobileye and Moovit. It offers end-to-end ADAS and autonomous driving solutions, including Base ADAS, a front camera that delivers a combination of intelligent safety features to avoid unsafe driving situations; Cloud-Enhanced ADAS, which leverages crowdsourced data to offer accurate localization; safer, smoother, and natural driving experience; and Mobileye Surround ADAS that offer eyes-on/hands-off functionality for highway ODDs with features, such as automatic lane change, front and rear collision avoidance, traffic jam assist, and a Highway Pilot function, as well as includes DXP support that enables customers to customize the driving experience. It also provides Mobileye SuperVision, a eyes-on/hands-off driver assist system for autonomous vehicles; Mobileye Chauffeur, an eyes-off/hands-off solution for consumer vehicles; and Mobileye Drive, a fleet-focused end-to-end self-driving system that enables automakers, public transportation companies, and transportation network operators to offer a no-driver solution for robotaxis, ride-pooling, public transport, and goods delivery. In addition, it offers EyeQ SoC that provide drivers with basic safety features covered by front-facing sensing, such as collision warning, lane departure warnings, pedestrian and cyclist collision warning, headway monitoring and warning, speed limit indicator, blind spot detection, and others; True Redundancy, which is an AI system architecture; and Road Experience Management solutions. It provides its products and services to original equipment manufacturers through automotive suppliers, as well as fleet owners and operators. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Jerusalem, Israel. Mobileye Global Inc. is a subsidiary of Intel Corporation.

What does it do?

Mobileye makes the 'eyes and brain' that help cars avoid crashes. Their cameras and chips are built into cars from brands like BMW, Ford, and Volkswagen, and they warn drivers about pedestrians, lane drifts, and collisions before they happen. Think of it like a co-pilot that never gets tired or distracted. They also own Moovit, an app similar to Google Maps but focused on public transit routes.

Why it matters

Every major carmaker is racing to add safety tech to their vehicles, partly because regulators in the US and Europe are pushing for it and partly because buyers now expect it. Mobileye is already embedded in over 100 million vehicles, giving it a massive head start over newer rivals. With self-driving technology creeping closer to reality, whoever owns the sensing and software layer owns a huge piece of that future.

02

How does it make money?

Mobileye makes money primarily by selling chipsets and software licenses to car manufacturers — for every car that rolls off the line with their system installed, Mobileye gets paid. Revenue grew from $1.7B to $1.9B in the latest year, roughly an 12% increase. Their Moovit segment earns smaller fees from transit agencies and cities that use its mobility data. However, despite nearly $2B in sales, the company posted a net loss of $400M, meaning costs — including heavy R&D spending on next-gen autonomous tech — still exceed what they bring in.

03

Why do investors care?

The bull case here is scale and timing: Mobileye is already the default safety chip supplier for dozens of car brands, so as ADAS features become standard equipment rather than luxury add-ons, revenue should grow automatically without needing to win new customers. For the thesis to play out, autonomous driving regulations need to loosen, car production volumes need to recover, and Mobileye needs to successfully launch its next-generation 'EyeQ' chips that command higher prices per vehicle. If they can convert that revenue growth into actual profits, the stock could re-rate significantly higher.
